In Juneau, we enjoyed an incredibly rainy second half of the summer--we hit 60” of rain Oct 1, and that is about 20% above average. Carrie and Torsten needed a break, and took the opportunity to go visit Houston and see grandparents.
Carrie has been enjoying bat bioacoustics work (including a poster presentation at the North American Symposium on Bat Research) and is currently one tile away from her goal for Fall Market. Look for updates to Talus Tiles soon. Wahoo!
Matt received a NASA grant for SEAMONSTER (the SouthEast Alaska MOnitoring Network for Science, Telecommunications, Education and Research). Matt also received notification that a 5 year partnership with North Carolina A&T to develop a national center for technology to train the next generation of NOAA scientists has been funded. These two grants have meant lots of additional travel to meet with collaborators and setup the projects--(its almost a 50:50 bet that Matt is on travel right now).
Torsten is enjoying Kindermusik with Matt once a week, saw his first symphony, loved being Nemo and all of the other Halloween festivities, is excited about the upcoming ski season, and thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Texas.
Torsten is continuing to grow, explore the world, and keep us all entertained and on ours toes. Our fall has included a trip to Texas and Halloween fun.
He is quite the typist and highly recommends AlphaBaby.
