Thanks to great support and tolerance from the rest of the family, I’ve squeezed in a few fun physical events. It started with the Atomic Man Duathlon (I did the little boy — 4km run, 15 km bike, 4 km run). It is nice to have photographers on the course share their photos. Here’s on the bike:

And they had a pretty good logo:

Next was the Santa Fe Century–no pictures, but a fantastic time. Thanks for the ride (and patience!) Richard. Very casual, very scenic, and very highly recommended (in addition to the 100 miles, they have 25, 50, and 75 mile courses).

Then, was the fantastic Jemez Mountain Runs. I did 50 km (~31.8 miles) in about 10 hours and 20 minutes. There was also 50 mile and half marathon courses. From these photos you may get the impression that I walked alot. You’d be right! Thanks to the photographers and aid stations. (But maybe one photographer could sacrifice the scenery to be at the _bottom_ of a hill so we might be running? 🙂 It was a great day!! The highlight was having Carrie, Torsten, Aven, Suka, and Keta meet me at the ski area.
Here’s the turn around at the top of Caballo, with the ski area in the background (yep, over a few hills and run to the ski area next…)

Here I am, slightly behind and in the middle, coming up a hill after the out and back to the ski area.

Less scenery, more face (a “double negative?”)

The profile for this 50km is more insane in hindsight, and my quads really let me know…

There was a good writeup from this run at Outside Magazine.
Up next? I signed up for the half marathon June 12 in the Valles Caldera. That, and keeping up with the kids!
